Fisking Molly Ivins in Ten Words or Less

Molly Ivins' latest dispatch (link will likely die soon) from her home planet (Zorbazz) finds her landing on the correct side of an issue for a change. She pillories SCOTUS for its wretched Kelo decision, released last week. Of course there's a catch: she finds the decision abhorrent because she hates rich people.

That's all you really need to know about the piece. No need to read it. You're welcome.

Don't believe me? You don't even need to get through the first sentence to realize that there is nothing worthwhile that this "intellect" is able to produce:

As one who cares a whale of a lot more about personal rights than property rights...

Let's go to the Constitution:

No PERSON shall...be deprived of life, liberty, or PROPERTY, without due process of law; nor shall PRIVATE property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Yup [LearnedFoot writes, mimicking Ivin's annoying cornpone style], suuuuure looks to this cowboy that property rights are personal rights.

Unless Molly means abortion rights when she says "personal rights". That's what I thought.

Again, you're welcome.
