Dropping Acid for Lennon

I don’t know that it happened for sure, but the author of the following letter (as seen in the Star & Sickle) appears to have taken LSD in honor of the 25th anniversary of the murder of John Lennon:

All we are is molecular dust in the wind?
The theories of "Intelligent Design" and "Evolution" are getting plenty of attention these days. But what about the theory of "illusion"? It could be we are not the dreamers we think we are, but rather .... the dream.

What we perceive to be "real" could perhaps be the flickering, electro-magnetic pulsations of an energy force too powerful to comprehend. There might be just enough molecular dust swirling about for us to kind of materialize.

Perhaps students should be taught the theory of illusion, for in dreams, you can fly.

RANDY A. SKJERLY, ST. PAUL

OK.

Our dear Randy had drooled quite a puddle of muddled mush. Or did he?

Perhaps Randy doesn’t really exist. Maybe the Star & Sickle doesn’t exist and I’m imagining this whole thing.

That can’t be, no body can dream up the drivel that is the daily S&S.

Methinks Randy spends most of his free time, which I’m sure is abundant, with one hand on a pen and the other on his, well, let me put it this way: Doing it won’t make you go blind, but it will make you irretrievably bonkers.
