The pathology report came in yesterday.
There were precancerous cells present (noninvasive ductal carcinoma) in both breasts. There's no way to detect noninvasive breast cancer until it becomes invasive, and the surgeon told her that had he known, he would have pushed for the double rather than merely presenting it as an agressive preventative option.
